About Sue Broersma

Sue Broersma has served as an administrative assistant for more than 30 years in between being a wife and mom. She says, “It started with me working alongside my husband, Joel Broersma, to support him in a back-office role, and has grown into a multi-function role of Admin/HR/Payroll Manager and even assisting with tax preparation input,” she says.

Sue grew up Byron Center, Michigan, and now lives in Montague. “I attended Davenport University for one semester in accounting until my dad asked what I really wanted to do in my future. Joel and I were talking seriously about marriage and I really wanted to be a wife and mom. He suggested I work full time and not incur so much debt if that was the direction we were heading. I followed his advice and it worked out well!” Sue says. Married to Joel since 1991, the couple has two daughters and sons-in-law, one son and daughter-in-law, and seven wonderful grandkids: six boys and one girl!

Both Sue and Joel are dedicated to their community. Sue says, “We are part of a new church in Whitehall, Michigan, where we serve on Sundays and throughout the week. I also sponsor a child through Compassion International, and help out with kids and grandkids. The next generation is so important to pour into and share the love of Jesus with.”

In her free time, the things Sue most enjoys include spending time with her family, campfire conversations, crocheting, and touring with Joel in their 1979 Chevy stepside pickup.
