          Dan Korhorn, CWS®
Dan Korhorn, CWS®, has been in the financial services industry since 1997. He holds his Series 6, 26, 63, and 65 securities registrations, and his life and health insurance license in Michigan. He has also earned the CWS® (Certified Wealth Strategist®) designation.
Dan co-founded Pathway Financial Design, LLC alongside Joel D. Broersma, CFP®, EA, in 2004. “We started Pathway because we wanted to be completely independent and have access to all the top carriers and companies that have solutions for the clients we serve,” he says.
As COO, Chief Operations Officer, Dan’s expertise in sorting through complex financial details makes him an invaluable part of the daily work that takes place at Pathway Financial Design as well as their sister firm, HBW Partners Tax Services LLC, which prepares taxes for almost 2000 clients. Dan completed a comprehensive tax class through The Income Tax School® and has been preparing returns since 2013. He assists taxpayers by helping them navigate some of the more intricate facets of the tax code, overseeing returns, and consulting on small business strategies.
”We are a resource for clients where they can get all things financial handled through one company and one relationship. Our goal is to help people, serve them, offer answers to problems, and organize their finances to make their future easier to manage.”
— Dan Korhorn
Dan loves helping people develop their personalized plan for financial independence. He firmly believes that in order to craft a proper plan for a family, the advisors at Pathway must be fully-invested in their clients’ lives and success. “I come from a blue-collar background and upbringing. I believe that we are stewards in regards to a client’s finances and we should treat clients as we would our own family. The whole team works hard to earn the trust that our clients put in us.”
Prior to his career in financial services, Dan built residential homes and spent his childhood and teenage years working on a farm. His mission as a financial advisor is to help people accomplish their goals. “My favorite thing is seeing a client plan come to fruition,” he says.
Originally from Ada, Michigan, Dan attended Grand Rapids Community College. He has been married for 28 years to his wife, Kim, a professor at Cornerstone University. They have two daughters, Emma and Lily, both of whom are currently pursuing higher education and their passions: Emma is in an MBA program and Lily is in cosmetology school.
Currently residing in Rockford, when he’s not working, Dan enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and playing as much golf as possible. He also enjoys woodworking … and bacon. Dan is involved in his community through Kent City Baptist Church and Lake Ann Camp and Retreat Center.
